The Chicago Lipstick Killer The Message That Terrified a City #ChicagoLipstickKiller #WilliamHeirens

In 1945, a chilling message written in lipstick was discovered at the scene of a Chicago murder: “Catch me before I kill more.” The words helped create the legend of the Chicago Lipstick Killer. The investigation eventually focused on seventeen-year-old William Heirens, who pleaded guilty in 1946 to three murders. He later recanted his confession, and questions about the interrogation, evidence, and authorship of the famous lipstick message continued for decades. This episode of Forgotten Files examines the murders of Josephine Ross, Frances Brown, and six-year-old Suzanne Degnan, the investigation that captured national attention, and the controversies that remain part of the historical record. This documentary distinguishes established historical events from disputed claims and theories. It does not present an unproven alternative suspect or theory as fact.
