Pankhol Jua, known as the Virgin Twin Islands of Malwan, feels like time travel. A small village island in Malwan Taluka of Sindhudurg district with a total population of just 152 people and 42 houses, where life is still authentic, slow, and deeply connected to the sea. The people here are happy in their small world. But behind that happiness is a fear you can't hide - the fear of the island disappearing. With rising sea levels, coastal erosion and very little attention from the administration because of its low population, this island is fighting a silent battle to survive.
