My EPT DIED Mid-Delivery! Early Morning Trucking in France

An early-morning delivery in France sounded like a great idea… until my EPT suddenly STOPPED WORKING halfway through unloading! 😳🇫🇷🚛 Today starts very early because I'm heading down into France for a delivery right in a town centre. My plan is simple: get there around 6AM, beat the traffic, get unloaded before the streets get busy and get back out again. Well… that's the plan anyway. 😂 Before arriving I'm already trying to work out where I'm going to put a full-size truck because there doesn't seem to be much room anywhere. Originally I plan to park in a larger car park nearby, unload the pallets with my EPT and literally walk them down the road to the delivery point. After a slightly awkward turn around, I park up and go exploring on foot to see exactly where I'm supposed to be delivering. The place is closed, but luckily I meet someone who explains that the automatic bollards blocking the road can actually be lowered for deliveries. All I need to do is drive down, press the buzzer and they'll let me through. Perfect! 😎 That gets the truck MUCH closer and saves me dragging heavy pallets all the way through town. I open the trailer, drop the tail lift and start unloading with the EPT. The only problem? COBBLESTONES. 😂 So much for quietly unloading at 6AM! The EPT is rattling its way across the street while the town is slowly waking up around me. It's summer, already light outside, a few people are beginning to appear and the bakeries are open — so I'm unloading pallets while smelling fresh bread coming from around town. 🥖😂 Everything is going beautifully… Until I'm nearly finished and the EPT suddenly stops working. It won't lift. It won't lower. I'm standing there in the middle of an early-morning delivery in France thinking… WHAT THE HELL DO I DO NOW?! 😳 I try unplugging the battery and messing around with it a few times and then, thankfully, it suddenly comes back to life! Absolute relief. 😂🙌 I finish the remaining pallets, get the truck turned around and escape the town centre before everything gets busy. Job done. 🇫🇷✅ But the day isn't over. From France I head north into Belgium for my next loading. 🇧🇪 The loading takes quite a while, so there's only one sensible thing to do… Put a film on and relax in the truck. 😂 Eventually I'm loaded and back on the road towards the next unloading point, but by the time I arrive they've already closed for the day. So that's where today's journey ends — parked outside ready to start again tomorrow. France 🇫🇷 → Belgium 🇧🇪 → another country crossed in another full day of European trucking. 🚛🌍 Plenty of driving, plenty of talking and rambling, a slightly stressful EPT moment and another look at what everyday international truck driving is actually like.
