The Best Part Of My Job? The People I Meet!

Welcome back to another full day on the road with Booths World! 🚛 Today's journey takes me across Germany with a few different unloading jobs, plenty of driving, and a reminder of why I still genuinely love this job after more than 10 years behind the wheel. The day starts with unloading some large square crates, but there's a small surprise waiting for me. The goods are all for the same company... just two different locations! That means opening the trailer, moving the right pallets first, and making sure everything comes off in the correct order before heading to the second unloading point. Next stop is a machinery company where I unload some large tyres surrounded by excavators, diggers and heavy equipment. Thankfully it's a straightforward job, although the German summer heat certainly makes me work up a sweat! 🥵 The highlight of the day comes at my final unloading... I arrive at a quarry and meet some absolutely brilliant people. They were laughing, joking, incredibly welcoming, and made the whole unloading enjoyable. We got chatting about motorbikes, and they told me they often ride through the forests in Germany. Who knows... maybe one day I'll head back over there and join them for a ride. I think that would make an amazing Booths World Adventure! It's moments like these that remind me why I love trucking. Every week I meet new people, visit places I'd never normally see, and sometimes complete strangers end up making your whole day better. After finishing work, it's time to find somewhere to park for the night. The first service station couldn't help me fill my shower water tank, but luckily the second stop had everything I needed. Water tank filled, truck parked, another successful day complete. Sometimes it isn't the loads... It isn't the truck... It's simply the people you meet along the way. I'd love to know...
