TMB DAY 8 : THE FENÊTRE D’ARPETTE VARIANT 🏔️🔥 | 2,665m HIGH Day 8 of the Tour du Mont Blanc takes us onto one of the more demanding variants of the route - the spectacular Fenêtre d’Arpette. Starting from Relais d’Arpette (1,627m), we began the long climb towards Fenêtre d’Arpette at 2,665m. After the relaxed moments around Champex-Lac on Day 7, it was time to get serious again. The trail climbed higher and higher, with steep terrain and incredible Alpine views along the way. 🥾 Distance: 18 KM ⛰️ Elevation gain: 1,200m ⬇️ Elevation loss: 1,500m 🏔️ Highest point: Fenêtre d’Arpette - 2,665m ⏱️ Walking time: 8 hours Reaching the Fenêtre d’Arpette was the big moment of the day. At 2,665m, the views across the surrounding Swiss Alps were absolutely incredible — but the descent was a serious one, with 1,500m of elevation loss before reaching Camping des Peuty (1,320m). This was another reminder that on the TMB, the hardest part isn't always the distance.
