8 Trains in 8 Minutes at Trenton | Amtrak & NJ Transit | May 31, 2026

For as long as I can remember, Trenton has been a hotbed for catching trains meeting eachother. This video I shot on May 31, 2026 is a testament to that. So, NJ Transit's Northeast Corridor Line Train 7824 was scheduled to arrive on Track 1. However, since Amtrak owns this section of the Northeast Corridor and had 2 eastbound trains that had to use Track 1, NJ Transit had to sit tight at the west side of FAIR Interlocking as this all unfolded. First, Amtrak Northeast Regional 103 rolls in heading west on Track 4. Shortly after, Amtrak Keystone 660 makes its way past NJT Train 7824 and makes its stop at Trenton. As Keystone 660 departs, it meets NextGen Acela 2211. We're not done. Moments later NJ Transit's GP40 No. 4302 roars through long hood forward on Track 4 with an equipment move bound for Morrisville Yard. Another one (DJ Khaled voice). At the same time, Amtrak Vermonter 54 arrives with a doubleheader of ACS-64s. As Vermonter 54 sits, Amtrak Keystone 663 arrives with bookended ACS-64s. Then, when Vermonter 54 leaves, I catch the tail end of a Legacy Acela zipping by on Track 2. They say patience is a virtue, right? After sitting in the pocket at FAIR Interlocking for the parade of trains to pass, NJ Transit Train 7824 makes its station stop at Trenton on Track 1, en route to New York Penn Station. 8 Trains in 8 Minutes.
