On October 12, 2026, a rider was ejected from Goliath at Six Flags Over Georgia. This documentary examines what witnesses saw, what the records show, and what remains unresolved.
Cobb County Police identified the man who died as Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, 42, of Atlanta. Preliminary interviews indicated that he struck other riders before falling beneath the attraction. Four children were also injured; police described their injuries as non-life-threatening.
Through witness accounts, source documents and original 3D illustrations, Reclaim follows the afternoon on Goliath, the passengers stranded on the following train, and the initial precautionary closure of nine additional coasters across the United States and Canada. We also examine the separate 2013 Texas Giant case, lap-bar restraints, Georgia's inspection records and the limits of federal ride-safety oversight.
The film covers Georgia's $65 annual state inspection fee alongside its separate requirement for daily inspections and testing. The Texas case provides historical context; it does not establish what happened on Goliath.
REPORTING CUTOFF: OCTOBER 18, 2026
At the film's cutoff, the public statements reviewed had not established why Kariem left his seat. Georgia officials had confirmed that Goliath's March 16, 2026 state inspection recorded no violations. Six Flags Over Georgia had reopened with Goliath still closed; Magic Mountain's separate Goliath had reopened after a review.
The 3D scenes and thumbnail are conceptual illustrations. They do not depict a verified fall path or establish a mechanical cause. The film contains no images of the victim or injuries.
