Leaving the bustling capital behind, the route takes us through winding Himalayan roads, dramatic gorges, and lush green valleys fed by mountain streams. Along the way, we make a scenic halt at the famous Seven Sisters Waterfall, take in the fresh mountain mist, interact with warm locals, and meet their adorable mountain dogs. The route also offers fascinating glimpses of local flora including the distinctive tree tomato (Tamarillo). Driving through the rugged terrain of North Sikkim offers a firsthand look at mountain road discipline and high-altitude infrastructure. A key rule along these narrow stretches is that only one vehicle is permitted on bridges at a time to ensure safety. We also cross newly constructed Border Roads Organisation (BRO) infrastructure, including bridges dedicated to the nation by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on December 7, 2025. After a scenic yet thrilling drive navigating high-altitude mountain terrain, we finally arrive in Lachung around 7:30 PM, ready for the snowy adventures ahead.
