Super Mario 64 began with a question earlier games never had to ask: where should the viewer stand? This episode follows the record of how the team started with the camera, placed it in the world as a Lakitu, and how critics in 1996 and 2007 judged the result. One part of the story, a reported Sega patent worry, rests on a single second-hand interview quote, and we label it that way. Where the sources are thin, the episode says so.
