In October 1997, Queen Elizabeth II visited the launch of Kamal Haasan’s dream film, Marudhanayagam. Twenty-nine years later, it’s still unfinished. 🎬
This video covers three things:
👉 How Kamal’s dream began, and how much of it was actually shot
👉 The real Maruthanayagam Pillai, who became Muhammad Yusuf Khan. He rose from a village boy to commander of the Company’s sepoys, then rebelled and was hanged in 1764
👉 Why the film stopped, and why Kamal still says it’s possible
