When I Am Afraid, I Will Trust in You | Psalm 56:3 | Christian Worship

When I Am Afraid, I Will Trust in You | Psalm 56:3 | Christian Worship “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” — Psalm 56:3 (ESV) Psalm 56:3 does not say that faith means we will never feel afraid. David begins with the honest words, “When I am afraid.” Fear can arise suddenly. The future may feel uncertain. Our thoughts may fill with questions, and we may not know what lies ahead. Scripture does not ask us to pretend that these feelings are absent. Instead, Psalm 56:3 shows us what we can do when fear comes: turn deliberately toward God and put our trust in Him. “When I Am Afraid, I Will Trust in You” is a Psalm Meditation about bringing fear honestly to God rather than allowing it to direct our steps. We can tell Him what troubles us. We can bring Him the thoughts we cannot carry alone. We can return to the truth of His Word. We can remember that He is faithful and near. Trust does not mean that every anxious feeling disappears immediately. It means choosing again where we will turn when fear rises. May this song become a simple prayer: When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. I will turn my heart to You. When my thoughts are filled with questions, I will rest in what is true. Even if fear rises, it does not have to lead our way. We can turn again to the Lord and entrust ourselves to His faithful care. === When I Am Afraid, I Will Trust in You Psalm 56:3 “When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.” Verse 1 There are moments when fear finds its way in, When my heart begins to race; When tomorrow feels uncertain, And I cannot see the way. I do not have to hide my fear, Or pretend that I am strong; When I am afraid, I’ll look to You, And remember I belong to You. Chorus When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. I will turn my heart to You. When my thoughts are filled with questions, I will rest in what is true. What great joy I've found within Your Word— You are faithful, You are near. When I am afraid, I put my trust in You, And bring to You my fear. Verse 2 Fear may rise without a warning, When the way ahead is unclear; But I do not face it by myself, For You walk with me. I can bring You every worry, Every thought that troubles me. Teach me not to give in to fear, Lord, But to rest my heart in You. Chorus Verse 3 Trust does not mean I will never Feel the trembling of my heart; Faith is choosing where I turn to When the anxious thoughts begin. So when fear becomes my weakness, Let it draw me close to You; Help me place what I cannot carry In Your hands that hold me close. Chorus Bridge When I am fearful, Keep me trusting; When I am troubled, Draw me near. When I am anxious, Draw my thoughts to You; Let Your faithful Word renew me. Keep me grounded, Keep me looking To Your faithful, steady Word; Fear may whisper, But I will answer, “I will trust my Lord, my God.” Final Chorus When I am afraid, I put my trust in You. I will turn my heart to You. When my thoughts are filled with questions, I will rest in what is true. What great joy I've found within Your Word— You are faithful, You are near. When I am afraid, I put my trust in You, And bring to You my fear. Even if fear rises It will not lead my way; I will turn again to You, Lord, And let Your love drive out my fear. Outro When I am afraid, I’ll trust You, When I tremble, I’ll draw near. You are faithful in each moment; I can bring to You my fear. Until I open Your Word again, Keep my heart close to You. === 🌻Multilingual Reflection Available Read the Scripture reflection and prayer for this song in multiple languages at: 👉 https://inhislovedaily.org/when-i-am-... 🌻Available in: 中文 | မြန်မာ | Nederlands | Filipino | 日本語 | Português 🌍 MULTILINGUAL SUBTITLES Portuguese · 简体中文 (Mandarin) · 日本語 Turn on CC / Subtitles and select your preferred language.
