Uniontown Board Track | Pennsylvania's Lost Speedways

In this video we walk through the history of one of PA's two board tracks: Uniontown Speedway in Hopwood. This track was part of the boom of motorsport which took place on superspeedways made from wood, a phenom of the 1920's and 1930's. This track was a big part in making auto racing famous in America, it was the first to have regular premieres of footage from its races shown in movie theatres across the country. I believe that this is one of the more influential tracks to motorsports history that I have covered in this video series.
