This composition of mine is based on Johann Sebastian Bach's Invention No. 1 in C Major, BWV 772 . It was created using 6 MIDI tracks of the same Bach Invention playing simultaneously. The first track is at 69 BPM. The other 5 tracks have progressively increased BPM values, respectively 69.5, 70, 70.5, 71 and 71.5. This means that each track has a slightly shorter duration than the previous one, creating a rhythmic phasing effect while maintaining the same number of notes and the same basic rhythmic structure. I kept the overall rhythm of the piece, but I shortened all the note durations, making them very brief, like dots. All tracks start together and play simultaneously, generating an interplay of different tempos. Software used: DAW: Ardour 8.1 Synthesizer Plugin: Surge XT Patch: Delay Dancer (Plucks) by Claes Johanson. In this preset, the delay creates a stereo effect with the left channel at 1/8 note and the right at 1/8 dotted, slightly offset for width. Modulation at 0.44 Hz slowly varies both delay times, adding a dynamic, dancing movement to the sound.
