L8 | നിമ്രോദ്, അശേരാ & ബാൽ | Nimrod, Asherah & Baal | BACK TO THE BASICS

Nimrod, Asherah, and Baal represent key aspects of Satan's counterfeit religious system that has opposed God's truth throughout history. • Nimrod (Genesis 10:8-10) was the mighty ruler who established Babel, the center of the first organized rebellion against God after the Flood. He is often viewed as the founder of a man-centered religious and political system characterized by pride, self-exaltation, and rejection of God's authority. • Asherah was a prominent pagan goddess associated with fertility and worshiped throughout the ancient Near East. Israel frequently fell into idolatry by erecting Asherah poles, contrary to God's commands. Her worship symbolizes spiritual unfaithfulness and corruption of true worship. • Baal was the chief Canaanite god of fertility, rain, and prosperity. Israel repeatedly turned to Baal worship, provoking God's judgment. The conflict between Elijah and the prophets of Baal (1 Kings 18) vividly demonstrates the contrast between the true God and false religion.
