LEGO Harry Potter PS4 on PS5 Pro - Why Did I Stop Playing This? - A Second Chance Years Later

Some games make you wonder why you ever stopped playing them... LEGO Harry Potter was one of those games for me. I've completed LEGO City Undercover and The LEGO Movie Videogame multiple times, so I decided it was finally time to return to Hogwarts and discover why this adventure never kept me playing. The gameplay loop is still fun to figure out, the puzzles are enjoyable, and the sound design receives a lot of attention. But one thing stood out almost immediately... This game comes from the era before LEGO games featured full voice acting. Instead, the characters communicate through funny babbling, laughs, grunts, and expressive animations while the music carries much of the storytelling. At first it's charming. After about twenty minutes... it started getting on my nerves. Because I know the Harry Potter films well, I could easily follow the story, but I found myself wanting more than expressive mumbling. Modern LEGO games have shown just how much voice acting can add, making the humor and characters enjoyable for both children and adults. That actually made me think... LEGO Harry Potter would be a fantastic candidate for a full modern remake. Would it change my opinion? Maybe. Join me as I give LEGO Harry Potter another chance and find out whether this classic still casts the same spell today. 👍 Call to Action Did you grow up with the classic LEGO games? Do you prefer the original "babbling" style, or do you think full voice acting made the newer LEGO games much better? Let me know in the comments!
