🚨Ghana’s road infrastructure is taking centre stage as the government outlines a series of projects ahead of the country’s 70th anniversary in March next year. Roads and Highways Minister Governs Agbodza says President John Dramani Mahama has directed the ministry to give the principal roads in Accra a facelift before March as part of activities marking Ghana’s 70th anniversary. The government has also outlined a vision to dualize the road from Tema through Osu, with a possible connection toward the old Winneba Road, in an effort to help reduce traffic pressure on the Kasoa corridor. Meanwhile, major works are progressing on the 20.8-kilometre Dodowa–Afienya–Dawhenya road, while the dualization of the Somanya–Dodowa road is also part of the government’s wider road programme. In Kumasi, demolition has begun at Abrepo Junction to make way for Phase One of the Suame Roundabout Interchange.
