Solitaire pipelay animation Polarled project

Solitaire has set new standards in the pipelay industry. A pipe-carrying capacity of 22,000 t make her less dependent on offshore pipe supply in hostile areas, while precise manoeuvring on full DP allows her to work safely in congested areas. Solitaire has achieved lay speeds of over 9 km a day, operating the latest version of the automatic welding system Phoenix, developed in-house. Scope of work for the Polarled project: Fabrication of pipeline heads (at Heusden fabrication yard) Installation of 482 km, 36-inch pipeline Installation of 5 in-line tee structures (including 1 double tee) Pull-in operations at the live Nyhamna Gas Plant, only 5 m from the existing Langeled gas export pipeline to the UK Crossing of 27 existing pipelines and cables Laydown at Aasta Hansteen platform with pipeline collar connector Installation of a 2-km vent line at Aasta Hansteen for commissioning of the Polarled pipeline
