Writing in another language with Sudowrite? See what happens when English instructions meet German story context—and how an explicit language instruction changes the result. Join Dahlia and Manon for this live Quick Start workshop on multilingual story planning. We explore a multilingual prompt-building workflow, develop a German cozy-fantasy café idea with Brainstorm and Chat, and move toward the Story Bible. Along the way, we test character import and encounter a useful limitation: getting the right language in Chat does not guarantee the same result in imported character cards. In this recording: • Compare Brainstorm results with and without a Language Lock. • Develop characters and a synopsis through Chat. • Check saved language preferences when Chat uses an unexpected language. • See a live German character-import test, including inconsistent output. • Discuss natural-sounding character names and using your own name list as Worldbuilding context for Chat. The workshop is taught in English, with German examples and discussion of French workflows. This is a live exploration, including troubleshooting; results vary by tool and language. The focus is story planning and language control rather than a complete prose-drafting or editing walkthrough. Recorded October 23, 2026. Sudowrite's interface and behavior may change after this recording. 00:00 Welcome and workshop overview 04:04 Multilingual workflow and prompt resources 09:47 Testing German prompts and clarifying the task 28:31 Setting up a German story project 30:14 Brainstorm: context language versus explicit instructions 34:12 Adding a Language Lock 37:19 Developing the story in Chat 40:59 Checking saved language preferences 42:40 Moving ideas into the Story Bible 47:50 Testing German character import 51:43 Q&A: Do generated character names sound natural? 53:31 Retrying character generation and checking the language 56:59 Q&A: Using your own character-name master list 58:44 Wrap-up and further questions
