MV9515 - 1995 John Harrison Dukeries Rally - The Edit 1995 John Harrison Peugeot Dukeries Rally The 1995 John Harrison Peugeot Dukeries Rally was another important fixture in the busy British club and national rallying calendar, taking place on Saturday, 24 June. Based around the forests of Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands, the event provided a demanding mixture of fast, flowing forest stages and the traditional rougher sections that had long made the Dukeries a favourite with competitors. With the event backed by John Harrisons of Lowdham, which sponsored the Dukeries from 1988 to 1995, the rally attracted a strong field competing for points in the Peugeot Sport Gold Star and Clear Systems Solutions Silver Star BTRDA Championships, together with the Peugeot Cup and regional awards. At the sharp end, Andy Burton and Rob Morgan produced the outstanding performance of the day in their spectacular Alfa Romeo Ferrari, taking overall victory. Burton was already establishing himself as one of the leading privateer drivers of the period, and the Dukeries success became the first of several victories on the event. He would return to win again in 1996, before adding further Dukeries victories in 2003 and 2011. The Dukeries was very much a driver's rally. The forest roads demanded commitment, accurate pace notes and mechanical reliability, while the competition was particularly intense among the Peugeot and BTRDA contenders fighting for championship points. For many crews, finishing the demanding stages was almost as important as outright pace. With Burton and Morgan taking the overall honours and a new Historic element beginning its life alongside the modern rally, the 1995 John Harrison Peugeot Dukeries Rally proved to be a significant chapter in the long history of one of the East Midlands' best-known forest rallies. 00:00 - Start 00:03 - Special Stage 09:01 - Special Stage 18:18 - Special Stage 21:49 - Special Stage 26:37 - Special Stage - Harlow Wood 29:53 - Special Stage 37:36 - Special Stage
