Will Your Lamp Be Burning Larry G Truitt

Will Your Lamp Be Burning? | Larry G. Truitt At midnight, ten women rise from sleep to the cry, “Behold, the bridegroom cometh.” All ten carry lamps, but only five have brought oil to spare. By the time the others return, the wedding door is shut. I wrote this country gospel song from Jesus’ parable of the ten virgins in Matthew 25:1–13. It asks a question each of us must answer for ourselves. If Jesus came today, would He find a living faith in my heart? The song ends with a prayer that the faith I sing about on Sunday would be the faith I live at home through the work of every day. “Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.” — Matthew 25:13 (KJV)
