6 Tackle World Fishing Reels Everyone Ignores in Australia (But They're Absolute GOLDMINES)

Looking for a cheap fishing reel in Australia that still carries an Okuma, Shimano or Daiwa name? These are 6 budget spinning reels on the Tackle World website, counted down from an A$39.90 Okuma Aria to a A$73.95 Jarvis Walker Tactical, with every price read off the shop's own product page and every weight, bearing count and drag figure read off the maker's own spec sheet. The countdown covers the Okuma Aria, Shimano FX, Okuma Safina, Daiwa Laguna LT, Okuma Carbonite XP Baitfeeder and Jarvis Walker Tactical. For each one: the Tackle World price for a named size, the brand's own recommended retail price where it publishes one, and the weight, bearings and maximum drag from the manufacturer. The Okuma Safina 8000 is rated at 16 kg of maximum drag at A$79.90 in the shop's catalogue. Then the useful half: four checks that separate a real saving from a number that only looks like one (the maker's spec page, which size the price belongs to, the brand's price against the shop's price with the date, and the lounge room drag test), why a seventh reel, the Okuma Fin Chaser, was cut for having no maker spec sheet, and four habits for the first week with a new reel. Prices were read on the Tackle World website on 19 October 2026 and are the prices at the time of recording. The Shimano FX at A$49.99 and the Daiwa Laguna LT 2000 at A$65.99 were on sale. Sales end and prices move, so check the page on the day, and stock varies from store to store. Weights, bearings and maximum drag are the makers' published figures for the named size, not fighting power, and no reel was tested for this video.
