Karnataka Congress leader Satish Jarkiholi has triggered a political debate with his remarks supporting the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Karnataka. His statement comes ahead of Rahul Gandhi and the Congress party’s planned November 1 rally in Delhi against alleged irregularities in voter-list revision. Public TV English+1 Satish Jarkiholi backs SIR and says the process was conducted properly in Karnataka because of the training and efforts made by Congress workers. He maintains that the deleted entries largely involved voters who had died, shifted residence, or appeared as duplicates. His comments have drawn attention because Congress leaders have raised objections to SIR implementation in other states. The Satish Jarkiholi SIR statement has also sparked questions within the party. Home Minister Priyank Kharge raised concerns about alleged irregularities involving Form 7 applications, while other Congress leaders have questioned aspects of the final voter list. Public TV English+1 Why is Satish Jarkiholi’s position becoming a political talking point? Does his statement differ from Rahul Gandhi’s national campaign against alleged vote manipulation? And why are BJP leaders highlighting these remarks? Satish Jarkiholi backs SIR in Karnataka, but the debate over voter deletions and the treatment of eligible voters continues. The competing claims and concerns make this an important political development to watch.
