The Walls of Constantinople is the 3rd scenario of the Attila the Hun campaign, with the objective to gather 10,000 gold in tribute by raiding any of the three enemies present in the scenario. Even though the objectives and hints say that the gold has to come from raiding, it can be obtained by all forms of gold gathering (mining, relics, etc) and also from trading at the market. The safer, more consistent strategy for this map is to quickly build up your forces and economy (as you have a large stockpile of starting resources) and strike Marcianopolis (Green) early to cripple or eliminate them before turning to Philippopolis (Red) and eliminating them as Constantinople (Blue) is very passive and won't attack until you attack them. Once the first two enemies are eliminated you can take your time gathering gold and plundering Constantinople to eventually win the scenario. Raiding and razing will generate you gold depending on you destroy: Every Dock and Market (outside Constantinople) provides 500 gold. The northern Dock in Constantinople when razed provides 1,000 gold in tribute while the southern docks will provide 2,500 gold for each dock razed. Every Town Center razed provides 3,000 gold. The first Castle being built will result in a 500 gold offering from the Romans. Destroying the Trade Cart that travels between the Philippopolis and Constantinople will result in 500 gold tribute. Destroying all the Trade Cogs owned by Constantinople provides 500 gold in tribute. Razing the Monastery outside Constantinople provides 1,000 gold. Stationing troops around the Wonder in Constantinople will provide a 1,000 gold tribute to dissuade the Huns from razing it to the ground. Razing the Wonder in Constantinople provides 5,000 gold. As you can see, it's probably best to eliminate Red and Green as you'll still get gold from destroying their town centers and it will make the rest of the scenario easier. Cavalry archers and men-at-arms, or a few rams or some knights will do until you get a castle up and can train tarkens for an early attack on Green. Your enemies will field: Constantinople (Blue): When attacked they will defend with Crossbowmen, Onagers, Monks, and Fire Ships. Counter with hordes of knights, tarkens or scouts and a few cavalry archers. Don't forget some siege for the towers, castles and military buildings. Mass amounts of hulks for the fire ships. Marcianopolis (Green): Swordsmen and Light Cavalry. Counter with Cavalry archers and any frontline unit (Knights, tarkets, pikemen, men-at-arms will get the job done) Philippopolis (Red): Crossbowmen and Pikemen. Counter with Cavalry archers and men-at-arms or maybe some knights once all the pikemen are eliminated. Once you have stockpiled the 10,000 gold by any means necessary, victory is yours!
