The church doesn’t enjoy a great reputation these days. Many see it as outdated, irrelevant, controlling, toxic, manipulative, or simply full of hypocrites. Even some who call themselves Christians wonder whether the church is really necessary. Yet, in the face of all those opinions, the Apostles’ Creed declares - 'I believe in the holy catholic church, the communion of saints.' In other words, Scripture reminds us that the church still has a vital place in God’s plan and in the lives of His people. This Lord’s Day we’ll be asking some important questions: • What is the church? • Why does it still matter? • What are the incredible privileges and responsibilities of belonging to it?
