Toot and Pip and the Disappearing Castle | Gentle Bedtime Story for Kids (21 min)

Toot and Pip and the Disappearing Castle - a gentle, original bedtime story to help little ones drift off to sleep. Pip has heard there is a castle in Downpatrick, so Toot the little train takes him to find it - along the river, past the reeds, all the way to the Mound of Down. But where the castle should be, there is only a great green hill. A wise old hare tells them the true story of the castle that was never finished, and from the top of the hill, at sunset, they look across to where St Patrick rests, keeping watch over the town. A calm, soft voice tells a 21-minute bedtime story about Toot and friends, with a slow music-box lullaby and a quiet animated night scene to watch. When the story ends the lullaby carries on softly, so there is no sudden silence. Lovely for bedtime, nap time, or a quiet moment. Keep the volume low and let it play. Toot's journey along the River Quoile to Inch Abbey follows the line of the Downpatrick and County Down Railway, the heritage steam railway in the town. Retold gently in our own words for bedtime.
