I Moved into an Almost Abandoned Cabin in the Bush | Creating an Artist Residency

After a year on the road and not being able to find a solid home to settle into my work as a textile artist, I found an almost abandoned cabin in the Australian bush and decided to clean it up, set up my weaving looms, spinning wheels, and dye pots. Creating an artist residency in the bush is a dream. There is plenty of work to be done to get it ready to relax into the creative flow state and enjoy this immersive experience in the wild landscape. In this video I share a shortened story of how I came to be in this situatiion while also looking to the future of my hopes and dreams in this space. Though I share about some heardships in this video and it may feel dark at times, ultimately I aim to share the light at the end of the dark tunnel and inspire others to hold for themselves through pain and grief with this image of light in the dark depths of sould that we must enjure in this life from time to time.
