Running 246 km of the Spartathlon - Rafał Woś | Mount to Coast

Spartathlon has been held as an annual ultramarathon in Greece since 1983. Covering 246 km between Athens and Sparti, the route was inspired by Pheidippides, the ancient Greek messenger who ran from Athens to Sparta before the Battle of Marathon to seek assistance against the Persians. Last year we sponsored Polish ultrarunner Rafał Woś to take part – he finished in 30th place overall in 29:49:15. “The hardest part of this race,” he says, “was the race itself. It was long. Incredibly long.” Rafał raced in the R1, our ultramarathon shoes for the longest runs and races.
