Since the route goes through a settlement known as Boys Town, it is commonly called the Boys Town Road. The pass begins at Ambayathode and ends at Boys Town, moving through dense forest cover, narrow ghat stretches, and five sharp hairpin bends that follow the natural contours of the hills. Along the route, everyday forest life is visible through places such as the Kottiyoor Honey Centre, where beekeeping is practiced, and access points leading towards the Kottiyoor Temple. As the road approaches Wayanad, Komachi Park appears along the way, a photography-based tourism park that has gained attention for its landscaped viewpoints. Deeper within the forest, Palchuram Waterfalls descends in multiple stages down a steep rock face, forming a shaded natural pool away from the main road.
