This photo was taken in early September 2026 in Clearwater Beach while my best friend, celebrated her 40th birthday with her beautiful family. She asked me if I could add a little Gilded and Gathered glow to it! She is one of the moms who pushes me to enjoy the little things, forgive easily, be intentional with my littles and fierce protecting their childhood. I'm so grateful that her desire to have her children grow up and be best friends is in my world. I have always told my children that God looked all over heaven and put their best friend right in their home. Kindred hearts make hard season so much more delightful. She loves this season of life people, spiderman costumes and yo-yos. We often have the privilege of striving together, as we homeschool and raise our kiddos. Would you believe she is pregnant with her sixth baby?! She's had to be a warrior this year, doing lots of hard things. I am so thankful for the opportunity to love on them a little extra. Quality time and family adventure is her favorite gift, so they took a little weekend away. No grand production. They hoped in the Surburban, on a whim, drove through the night to a little Florida coastal hotel and woke up to the Gulf beach and sunshine, sand between their toes, brothers gathered together, special time with their oldest girly, and a mother choosing to pause long enough to enjoy the life she has worked so hard to build (even if its just for 2 nights). Romanticizing motherhood, marriage and life is close to my heart... not because every season is easy. Not because every day feels magical (but feelings aren't facts). I know that is not our reality. To me, making motherhood magical is simply deciding that the small things are worth enjoying extra - taking the time to pause for intentional gratitude. The quick beach trip. The sandy swimsuits. The car full of kids who will never be this little again. The squished hotel room. The brothers sitting together at the water’s edge. The season you’re in right now. There is unmatched beauty, you can find it too. This piece felt like a chance for me to pause too — to step outside of my own life for a moment and admire the beautiful bounty of someone I love so deeply - her drive, diligence, endurance, kindness and intention to follow the Lord should be encouraging to anyone seeking to build their character.
