🌸✨ English Description (Detailed English Version): Welcome to our channel! On the auspicious day of Vijayadashami (Dasara), millions of people across India follow the cherished tradition of exchanging Banni (Shami) leaves, addressing them as "gold," and seeking the blessings of elders. But what is the profound mythological history that turns an ordinary leaf into a symbol of pure gold? In this video, we delve into an inspiring tale from the Treta Yuga involving King Raghu of the Ikshvaku dynasty, the virtuous student Kautsa, and Lord Kubera, the treasurer of the gods. Highlights of the Story: Kautsa’s Devotion & Guru Dakshina: After completing his education under Sage Varatantu, young Kautsa persistently requests his teacher to accept Guru Dakshina. Testing his resolve, the sage asks for 14 crore gold coins (representing the 14 branches of learning). Seeking Help from King Raghu: Unable to arrange such an enormous fortune, Kautsa approaches the renowned and benevolent King Raghu. However, having just concluded the Vishwajit Yajna where he donated all his wealth to the poor, King Raghu had nothing left but clay utensils. The Resolve to Wage War on Kubera: Determined not to turn away a seeker from his doorstep, King Raghu decides to wage war against Kubera, the God of Wealth. The king and his army set up camp outside Ayodhya, near a dense grove of Shami trees. The Rain of Gold: Overawed by King Raghu’s righteousness, valor, and unyielding promise, Kubera overnight showers millions of gold coins onto the Shami trees. The Pinnacle of Selflessness: The next morning, King Raghu offers the entire heap of gold to Kautsa. In a remarkable display of detachment, Kautsa refuses to take even a single coin beyond the required 14 crores. King Raghu also refuses to keep the remainder. Ultimately, the remaining wealth was distributed among all the citizens of the kingdom on that very day—Vijayadashami. Since that glorious day, the leaves of the Shami tree have been exchanged as sacred gold, representing generosity, truth, prosperity, and righteous victory.
