A Reddit post recently claimed that Classroom of the Elite Season 5 had officially been confirmed for two cours.
The interesting part is the Japanese wording shown in the image: 「2年生編 2学期〈前半〉」 — roughly, “Year 2, Second Term: First Half.”
But does “First Half” actually mean Season 5 will have two cours?
In this video, I check the Japanese wording itself, compare it with what has actually been officially announced, and look at what a longer Season 5 could mean for the Year 2 adaptation.

We’ll also look at:
• What the Japanese announcement actually says
• Why “First Half” does NOT automatically mean “first cour”
• What would really confirm a two-cour Season 5
• Whether more episodes would actually improve the pacing
• How much Year 2 material could realistically fit
• The Volume 0 question
• What is confirmed, what is evidence, and what is still speculation
As of this video, Classroom of the Elite Season 5 is confirmed to be in production, but a two-cour broadcast has not been officially confirmed.
So is this a genuine clue about the adaptation plan, or are fans reading too much into two Japanese words?
Let me know what you think below.
Would you rather see Season 5 adapt fewer volumes with more detail, or use a longer run to cover more of Year 2?
