Today's Devotional: God Gives Wisdom “If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.” — James 1:5 (ESV) There are going to be moments when you genuinely don't know what to do. Maybe you're making a decision about your future, dealing with a difficult person, trying to understand what God wants from you, or simply wondering which direction you should take. Sometimes we think we need to figure everything out ourselves before we can move forward. But God doesn't expect you to have all the answers. He invites you to ask Him. James doesn't say that God gives wisdom only to people who already have strong faith or understand everything. He says that if you lack wisdom, ask God. That means uncertainty can actually become an opportunity to draw closer to Him. When you pray for wisdom, also be willing to follow what God reveals through His Word. God's guidance will never contradict Scripture. Sometimes His answer may not be the one you hoped for, but you can trust that His wisdom is greater than yours. “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.” — Proverbs 3:5 (ESV) You don't need to know the entire path today. Ask God for wisdom, obey what He has already revealed, and trust Him with the steps you can't see yet. Prayer: Father, I need Your wisdom. There are things I don't understand and decisions I don't know how to make. Help me not to rely solely on my own understanding, but to seek You through prayer and Your Word. Give me discernment to recognize what is right and courage to follow You when Your way is difficult. Lead me according to Your will and help me trust You with what I cannot see. In Jesus' name, amen.
