Today's Devotional: When God Says “Be Still” “Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10 (ESV) We live in a world that constantly tells us to do more. Work harder. Move faster. Figure everything out. Plan the future. Fix every problem. Sometimes we can carry that same mindset into our relationship with God. But there are moments when God calls us to stop striving and simply trust Him. Being still doesn't mean being lazy or doing nothing with your life. It means recognizing that God is God—and you aren't. There are things you cannot control, answers you don't have, and circumstances you cannot change. But none of those things are outside His control. You don't have to carry the weight of figuring out your entire future today. You don't have to know exactly how everything will work out. Your responsibility is to faithfully follow Christ with what He's placed in front of you right now. “Commit your work to the LORD, and your plans will be established.” — Proverbs 16:3 (ESV) So take a breath today. Pray. Open God's Word. Do what He has called you to do. And leave the things you cannot control in His hands. Prayer: Father, help me be still before You. I confess that I often try to control things that belong in Your hands. Teach me to trust Your wisdom instead of constantly worrying about what comes next. Give me peace when I don't have answers and courage to faithfully do what You've called me to do today. Help me remember that You are God, You are sovereign, and You are good. In Jesus' name, amen.
