Mizuno's Hyperwarp Elite is one of three new racing shoes in the 2026 Hyperwarp lineup, and it might be the most overlooked of the three. At $400 it's not cheap, but it delivers a dual-layer PEBA midsole and full-length carbon plate built for track reps, 5km to 10km racing, and half marathon day.
We put the Hyperwarp Elite through months of track sessions, from 400s to 3km efforts, to see where it really fits. Its dual-layer Mizuno Enerzy XP midsole pairs a responsive PEBA top layer with a more durable TPEE base, giving it a firmer, more grounded ride than most modern race shoes. Add in the full-length Smooth Speed Plate and a Michelin outsole for grip, and it's a shoe built to reward runners who want to feel their foot working rather than sinking into max-stack foam.
In this video we cover:
Who is the Mizuno Hyperwarp Elite for?
How does the Hyperwarp Elite compare to the Hyperwarp Pro and Hyperwarp Pure?
What does the dual-layer midsole and carbon plate actually feel like?
Is the upper true to size, and should you go up half a size?
Is the Hyperwarp Elite worth $400?
If you're chasing a 10km PB, training for a half marathon, or just curious whether Mizuno's new racing range is worth the hype, this review will help you decide if the Hyperwarp Elite belongs in your rotation.
