In this listener Q&A episode, we’re talking about two questions that come up again and again for yoga teachers: What was my experience teaching yoga online? And how much responsibility should a contracted yoga teacher have for filling their classes?
I’m sharing what it was actually like to move my teaching online during the pandemic, why I never saw online yoga as “too oversaturated,” and how I used pre-recorded classes, Zoom group classes, private sessions, and an online subscription platform. I’ll also break down the difference between evergreen pre-recorded classes and live online teaching and how both can fit into a larger yoga business ecosystem.
Then we’re getting into an excellent question for studio teachers: Who is actually responsible for getting people into the room? We’ll talk about contracts, compensation, marketing, attendance, and why a quiet class isn’t necessarily a reflection of your ability as a teacher.
