Some nights, the problem is not tiredness. It is noise — the week still buzzing in your head long after the lights go out. This Yoga Nidra is for those nights. Tonight we do not chase sleep. We practice stillness, and we let sleep come to us. Lie down, close your eyes, and let a slow, soothing voice guide you through a full rotation of awareness, a gentle count of the breath from one to ten, and the quiet place between opposites — heaviness and lightness, warmth and coolness, movement and rest — where sleep has been waiting all along. Then we walk, unhurried, into your own inner landscape: a mirror-still lake at dusk, a moonlit meadow, a hushed forest glade, and a calm sea under the stars. Four pictures of the same stillness, the stillness inside you. If a thought from the week visits you, you will learn to watch it the way you would watch a leaf on still water — it passes, and the water smooths itself behind it, as if it had never been there. Tonight's journey: Settling in — three sighing breaths that set the whole week down Sankalpa — your promise: I am still, and I sleep deeply Rotation of awareness — a slow journey through the whole body, then a second, slower pass through the places we forget Counting the breath from one to ten, again and again, like pebbles dropped into still water Opposites — heaviness and lightness, warmth and coolness, movement and rest, and the quiet middle place where sleep lives The inner landscape — a still lake at dusk, a moonlit meadow, a forest glade, and a starlit sea Ten layers down into deep rest Gratitude, a return to your Sankalpa, and then only music — keeping watch until morning Best experienced lying down in a dark, quiet room with eyes closed. Headphones recommended. If your mind wanders, simply come back gently, without scolding yourself at all. If this practice carries you into stillness tonight, please subscribe for a new Yoga Nidra journey every Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday evening, and tell us in the comments what your still place looks like.
