Quiet, Please - "Green Light" (Old Time Radio, 1948)

Quiet, Please presents “Green Light,” episode 34 of Quiet, Please, originally broadcast January 26, 1948 on the Mutual Broadcasting System. This sustained, unsponsored drama was written and directed by Wyllis Cooper. While waiting for a westbound train, former railroad telegrapher Phil Connors recalls a disturbing night at a small lumber-town depot. With Addie Dorsey nearby, an unexpected train and an unsettling signal challenge both Phil’s professional judgment and his hopes for the future. Ernest Chappell stars as Phil, with Anne Seymour as Addie Dorsey. Quiet, Please presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
