Overbecks National Trust garden, just down the footpath from Bolt Head

A short walk from Bolt Head airfield is a National Trust property, Overbecks. The house is currently closed and being renovated, but the tropical gardens are open and well worth a look, especially if like my wife and I, you are National Trust members. The cafe is good too (and open to non members). I'm a private pilot flying an Ikarus C42 out of Exeter international airport. I visit lots of small airfields in the south west of England and beyond, by myself and with friends and family, taking in the beautiful scenery. I'm a committee member of the Devon Strut Light Aircraft Club helping to organise "Fly-in" and "Fly-out" days for club members and visiting pilots. I video most of my flights, including mistakes and bad landings, which enables me to review and improve my performance and, hopefully, help and/or entertain others.
