y’all still think college is worth it? is college worth it, should i go to college, I gotta tell you my real story. I ain't gonna lie to y'all bro, I dropped out second semester. I was sitting in my car reading manga like, yeah I'm done. I wasn't feeling homework, I didn't really vibe with the people, I didn't vibe with the environment. I just got disillusioned. In my head I was destined for greatness but I had no real game plan, no real goal. I just knew school wasn't it. If you're asking should i go to college, is dropping out of college worth it, or you're in that drifting phase right now with no plan, this one is for you. I'm not here to preach. I'm just gonna tell you what happened after I left and why I wouldn't trade it. Sit with me for 10 minutes. WHAT I GET INTO IN THIS ONE: why I left college second semester sitting in the car reading manga feeling destined for greatness but having no real game plan at all becoming the greatest drifter to ever do it - factory, music, all of it working a factory job making a life-saving product but feeling empty my coworkers were kind of like zombies, no dreams, just talk no action what the factory taught me: don't be a talking person, be about that action how to move and maneuver around miserable people without becoming one sinking my teeth into music production, buying FL Studio, trying to get my bread up my parents wanted me to be a firefighter for stability, I wanted upper echelon music couldn't keep the facade up no more in music, no real goal so it fell apart moving apartments, back to my childhood home, finding my books in pristine condition my Divine Umbrella moment - Atomic Habits, The Compound Effect, The Psychology of Money, The Alchemist I wasn't ready to receive any of the lessons the first time I bought them how Atomic Habits changed my life and made me get serious why the journey was the destination and why drifting had to happen why this YouTube channel would never exist if I stayed in school Let me tell you something gang. After college I was drifting for real. Factory job. I'm making a life-saving product, so on paper that's important work. But I'm looking around and everybody given up. Just zombies. Clock in, complain, clock out, talk about what they gonna do one day but never do it. That taught me more than any class ever did. Don't just talk about it. Be about it. And learn how to protect your energy around miserable people because that vibe is contagious. Then I went all in on music. Bought FL Studio, sunk my teeth into it. My parents like, be a firefighter, get something stable. I get it, they wanted me safe. But I wanted greatness. Problem was I had no real goal in music either. I just liked it. And when you got no goal you can't keep the facade up. It fizzled out just like school, just like the factory dream. Then life forced me back home. I'm moving apartments, back to my childhood home, and I find all those self-help books I bought years ago in pristine condition. Atomic Habits, Compound Effect, Psychology of Money, The Alchemist. I never really read them. I wasn't ready to receive any of the lessons back then. But this time? My life changed. Atomic Habits hit me different. Get serious. Fix your habits. Stop drifting and start building. That's literally where this channel came from. I wanted to be a guiding light, be that friend who understood me that I never had, tell my story and help somebody else get through it. And here's the part that messed me up in a good way - none of this happens if I don't drift. If I stay in college miserable doing homework I hate, I never see the factory zombies. I never learn action over talk. I never fail at music. I never find those books at the exact moment I'm ready. The journey was the destination the whole time. That's straight from The Alchemist and now I live it. So y'all still think college is worth it after hearing that? For some people yeah, if you need that degree for what you wanna do, go get it. But for me? Leaving was the tuition. Drifting was the classroom. YouTube is my final fantasy now. I'm trying to make YouTube shake. I want y'all to one day be like that boy made it, that boy made a way. If you're drifting right now, feeling guilty because you left school or you got no plan, good. You're not behind. You're collecting the story you're gonna tell later. Get serious one habit at a time, master your emotions, keep moving. You already have all the tools to just do the thing. Tell me in the comments gang - y'all still think college is worth it? Did you drop out? Are you thinking about it? Are you drifting right now? What did your drifting teach you? I read everything. Let's talk like friends. Thanks for sitting with your thoughts with me for 10 minutes. Road to 100 long-forms, one upload at a time. #iscollegeworthit #shouldigotocollege #collegedropout #droppingoutofcollege #debugzell
