We Ignored the Warnings on Our Farm in Rural France

Life in rural France doesn’t always go to plan. Almost three years ago we moved from the Netherlands to the French countryside to renovate an old farmhouse, and when we built our greenhouse, viewers warned us that keeping the peach tree inside was a mistake. They were right. This week, we finally have to say goodbye to the tree. But simply cutting it down felt a little too easy, so we decided to give it one final night in the greenhouse and build something special for its farewell. Meanwhile, everyday life on our farm in France continues. We’re growing more of our own food, installing a new watering system in the vegetable garden, picking kilos of plums from our French neighbours and continuing the DIY renovation of our old barn. Inside, we’re converting the barn into guest apartments, and the walls of the first apartment are finally starting to transform the space.
