Vocal Strength Coach Reacts to Nene Royal | A Little Piece of Heaven | FIRST TIME

For the first time in this entire Nene Royal rabbit hole, I wasn’t just excited going into a reaction. I was a little nervous. 😂 I’ve been listening to Avenged Sevenfold for more than 20 years, and I’ve heard “A Little Piece of Heaven” hundreds of times. I know exactly what this song is about, so let’s just say I wasn’t completely sure how our sweet little Nene Royal was going to handle it. Would she censor herself? Change some lyrics? Skip a few things? Nope. 😂 She went for it. And somehow she and the entire band still looked like they were having the absolute time of their lives. This is also an incredibly difficult song to cover well. It moves between lighter, playful, theatrical sections and much darker, more aggressive moments. Nene handled those transitions beautifully. The long notes, the changes in vocal color, the aggression, the character, all of it worked. I honestly didn’t know if anybody could cover this song convincingly. Nene and OZONE absolutely crushed it. And selfishly, after watching this, part of me wants her to walk onto the America’s Got Talent finals stage next week and perform THIS just to see what would happen. 😂 But I’m still sticking to my prediction: Nene comes out with OZONE and they play a shortened version of “Master of Puppets.” And the more I think about it, the more obvious that choice feels. “Master of Puppets” reached an entirely new mainstream audience decades after it was released because of Stranger Things. There are people who may know exactly ONE Metallica song, and that’s the one. They don’t just recognize it. They associate it with a show and a moment they already love. Those viewers are also still right in the demographic that remembers discovering that song through Stranger Things. So if you’re trying to win over a massive American television audience that may not know Nene yet, why wouldn’t you choose the Metallica song millions of those viewers already have an emotional connection to? To me, it feels like a no-brainer. We’re less than a week away now, and I’m sticking to my prediction until somebody proves me wrong. Make sure you’re subscribed, because even from the West Coast, I’m going to do everything I can to be one of the first reactions out when Nene performs in the finals. What do YOU think she performs?
