#clayshooting #GunFit #sportingclays The gun in your cabinet was built for a man who doesn't exist. Factory stocks are cut to an average — an average height, an average neck, an average face. If you happen to match that average, your gun fits you. If you don't, then for every year you've owned it, that gun has been pointing somewhere slightly different from where you've been looking. And here's the part that should bother you: you've been correcting for it. Every single shot. Your body worked out the error a long time ago and started quietly compensating, and you've spent years calling the result your technique. That's why gun fit is so hard to spot in yourself. If a stock is too long, you don't notice a long stock — you notice that you mount slowly or catch the butt on your vest. If the comb is too low, you don't notice a low comb — you notice that you seem to shoot under things. The adaptation works most of the time, and falls apart exactly when you're rushed, tired or turned awkwardly. In the next ten minutes you'll find out which one you are. No coach, no appointment, no fitting day. Three tests, a mirror and a tape measure. 🎯 WHAT YOU'LL LEARN IN THIS VIDEO 1. The three dimensions that decide whether a shotgun fits you 2. Why every test has to start with your eyes CLOSED 3. Test one — the mirror test for comb height 4. Test two — length of pull, and the two-finger guide 5. Why the forearm test is not a fitting and never was 6. Test three — cast, the one almost nobody checks 7. How to confirm all three on a pattern plate 8. Why none of this needs a new gun ⏱️ CHAPTERS 💬 TELL ME IN THE COMMENTS Go and do the mirror test and tell me what you saw — eye sitting on the rib, buried in the receiver, or floating above it? And tell me how many of your five mounts gave you the same picture, because five different answers is itself the finding. And if the forearm test is the only fitting you've ever had, say so. I suspect that'll be most of you. ⚠️ Always check the gun is unloaded before any of these tests, then check it again. Treat it as loaded regardless. 👉 Next week: what every miss is telling you, and why four different misses have four completely different causes. 🔔 Subscribe to Full Choke for clay shooting breakdowns every week. #clayshooting #GunFit #sportingclays #shotgunking #shootingtips #GunFitting #claypigeonshooting #LengthOfPull #ShootingOver50 #trapshootinglife
