In 1978, a 38 year old man who had not raced a motorcycle in 11 years walked back onto the most dangerous racetrack on Earth. Everyone told him he would either embarrass himself or get killed. He won anyway.
This is the story of Mike Hailwood, once the greatest motorcycle racer alive, and his impossible comeback at the 1978 Isle of Man TT. We go through his 9 world titles and 12 TT wins, the years he threw it all away to chase Formula 1, the burning car he ran into to save a rival, the shattered leg that ended his car career, and the chance meeting that put him on a privateer Ducati against the full factory teams. Then the race itself, the fastest lap of his life, the win by almost two minutes, and the quiet, senseless tragedy that took him just three years later.
