🪵 Winter Is Coming… We Need 10 Cords of Firewood! | Alaska Life

🪵 *Fall is here, but winter is coming fast in Alaska… and that means it’s time to start cutting FIREWOOD for the winter!* Come along with us for a real day of getting ready for another Alaska homesteading and winter preparations. Our goal is *10 cords of firewood**, and today we managed to bring home the first **2 cords!* That means… *2 DOWN. 8 TO GO.* 😂🪵 This year we're working a little smarter and saving our backs by using our *CAT 959 loader and dump truck* to help move the wood. When you have this much firewood to put up before winter, heavy equipment definitely comes in handy! Living in Alaska means thinking ahead. Summer and fall aren't just beautiful seasons—they're the months when we hunt, fish, preserve food, gather firewood, work on projects, and prepare for the cold months ahead.
