When The Vision Is Clear But Not The Next Step. How do You Move Forward Without Knowing How?

I thought the discipline that got me through my PhD would be enough for what came next. Building a new life as a postdoc and a vision beyond academia has challenged my assumption. Join me for a Sunday day in my life, from 4:30 AM to 10:30 PM, as I share my PhD-to-postdoc transition story, and my faith behind this new season. I’m Dr. Lydia Park, a biomedical engineering PhD and postdoctoral research scientist. In this vlog, I reflect on going from thesis proposal to defense in under twelve months, moving to Virginia, navigating unexpected setbacks, and learning to trust God while the answers are still pending. I also share why I’m building Kingdom Minded PhD Scientists: an education and content platform helping STEM PhD students pursue their doctorate with clarity, confidence, and Christ-anchored purpose. My vision includes AI-powered research workflows that create more room for scientific judgment, imagination, and meaningful work. If you’re navigating graduate school, life after a PhD, or a new season that’s asking more of you than you expected, I hope this feels like an honest conversation with someone walking alongside you. Think in decades. Act in days. Stay rooted in Christ. What has your current season taught you that your previous one didn’t? Share in the comments!
