🔎 A note on honesty
• His descent from al-Namir ibn Qasit and his family's home near Mosul: as the books of biography and genealogy record. His words "I was stolen as a boy" are in al-Bukhari.
• How he reached Mecca: two reports, sold or escaped. We give both.
• His emigration story is narrated through several routes with small differences and one meaning. That Qur'an 2:207 was revealed about him is reported by a number of early scholars.
• "It is narrated": Umar's three questions, Umar's instruction that he lead the prayer, and his caution in narrating.
• Left out as seriously weak: his meeting with Ammar at the door of al-Arqam's house, and the handful of flour on his journey.
• We do not depict the Prophet or his companions.
