Exploring Solo Hiking In New Zealand Youngman Stream Hut (Hike took me 5 Hours to get to the hut. Starting from Lees Valley Road on the Youngman Stream Track to the hut. Its a nice 4x4 track for the 1st section till you get to the Tarn Hut track intersection. There is one small stream crossing that you have to get over but waters below knees. After that the track is smaller and you have to follow the markers. Very nice hut and stayed one night and was nice and warm but there is mice inside the roof that move around. Standard Hut, 6 Bunks, Adult 18+ years: $10 per night, Youth 5–17 years: $5 per night, Child/Infant 0–4 years: free Bookings aren't required. But before you go, buy 1 Standard Hut Ticket (blue for adults, yellow for youth) for each night's stay. Put this in the honesty box at the hut. Or buy a Backcountry Hut Pass that gives unlimited use at most Standard and Serviced huts for a 12 month period.
