Prayer of the Blessed Way

Our Father in heaven, I come before You poor in spirit, with nothing to offer but my need. Your holy law has shown me who I truly am. I confess that apart from Christ I am spiritually bankrupt, unable to save myself or make myself righteous. Thank You for not leaving me in my poverty, but for leading me to Jesus, my only hope. Lord, I mourn over my sins. Open my eyes to see what they have cost. Let me never forget that my rebellion pierced the heart of infinite love and brought suffering to my Savior. Yet I thank You that at the cross mercy triumphed over judgment. Thank You that through the blood of Jesus my sins are forgiven, my guilt is removed, and my heart is comforted by Your grace. Create within me a meek and humble spirit. Destroy every root of pride, self-righteousness, and boasting. Help me to remember that every good thing I possess has come from Your hand. Keep me from looking down on others or judging them as though I were better. Teach me to walk in the humility of Christ, esteeming others above myself. Father, deepen within me an unquenchable hunger and thirst for the righteousness of Christ. Never allow me to be satisfied with my own goodness or outward religion. Fill me with the riches of Your Son. Clothe me in His righteousness. Let His Spirit dwell within me until His character is formed in my life. Lord, because You have shown me such great mercy, make me merciful. Teach me to forgive as I have been forgiven. Remove every trace of bitterness, resentment, and revenge from my heart. Help me to love those who have wounded me, pray for those who oppose me, and extend the same compassion that You have so freely poured upon me. Purify my heart, O God. Wash me continually by Your Word and through the working of Your Holy Spirit. Remove every divided affection until You alone reign upon the throne of my heart. Let me behold more clearly the beauty of Your character, and as I behold You, transform me into Your likeness from glory to glory. Make me a peacemaker. Having reconciled me to Yourself through Jesus Christ, send me into the world as Your ambassador. Give me wisdom to speak words of life, courage to share the gospel of peace, and love that seeks the salvation of every soul. Use my life to restore broken hearts, broken homes, broken friendships, and broken lives by pointing them to the Prince of Peace. Father, strengthen all who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake. Remember Your faithful children throughout the world who suffer because they belong to Christ. Uphold them with Your mighty hand. Give them courage, joy, and unwavering faith. May they never deny Your name, but stand firm until the end. And Lord, prepare me also for whatever lies ahead. If I must suffer for the name of Jesus, let me never be ashamed of Him. Root me so deeply in Christ that no temptation, no trial, no persecution, and no power of darkness can move me from my allegiance to You. May I count it an honor to suffer with my Savior, knowing that the kingdom belongs to those who endure by faith. I also pray for those who still walk in spiritual poverty without knowing the riches of Christ. Open their eyes through Your Holy Spirit. Lead them to the cross. Comfort the brokenhearted, humble the proud, satisfy the hungry soul, show mercy to the guilty, purify the defiled, make peacemakers out of rebels, and give courage to all who will follow You despite the cost. Thank You, Father, for beginning this work in me. Thank You that the path of the righteous shines brighter and brighter until the perfect day. Complete what You have started. Conform me fully to the image of Your Son, until the day when faith gives way to sight, when I shall see You face to face, and by Your amazing grace be made like Him forever. For Yours is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory forever. In the precious name of Jesus I pray, Amen.
