Ninus:The Legendary King who conquered the World.

#assyrian #ancienthistory #ancientcivilizations This video explores the legendary story of Ninus, the king of Assyria, and his quest to conquer the known world. Ninus built a powerful army, forged alliances, conquered vast territories, founded the great city of Nineveh, and eventually turned his attention to the formidable kingdom of Bactria, leading to a legendary battle and the eventual fall of Bactra. The story also introduces Semiramis, whose role in the conquest of Bactria would make her one of the most enduring figures of ancient Near Eastern legend. Interestingly, the figure of Ninus bears striking similarities to Naram-Sin in Mesopotamian history and to Nimrod in religious traditions. Whether these similarities reflect shared traditions, later reinterpretations, or coincidence remains an intriguing question.
