#Babylon #AncientHistory #Mesopotamia The Babylonian Empire did not collapse overnight, it went through decades of rebellion, invasion, economic crisis, and relentless warfare. Following the death of Hammurabi, his successors struggled to hold together the largest kingdom in Mesopotamia. Babylon's power steadily declined until the Hittite king Mursili I marched south and sacked the city, bringing the First Babylonian Dynasty to a dramatic end. In this video, we explore the political fragmentation of Mesopotamia, and how one of history's greatest empires fell from its peak to ruin.
